1.) Do you represent unpublished authors?
The agency selectively reviews unpublished manuscripts. We are looking for polished material and a professional presentation.
2.) Can I query by email?
We only accept email queries, so please do not send printed material. Inquiring authors may initially submit one chapter and a synopsis.
3.) How long does it take to reply to a submission?
Depends on the influx of material. Could be two weeks, could be two months. If you haven’t heard from the agency in six weeks, please email and request the status of your work.
4.) How hands on are you?
In the early stages of an author’s career, we like to read all material submitted for editorial consideration. Once an author is published, she works closely with her editor. As long as we know the plot behind her next project, we may not read the book until it’s released. We do not edit work.
5.) Do you work with a written contract?
The agency has an author/agent contract. Very author friendly. We like business set in black and white. The contract specifies my obligations to our authors.
6.) What do you represent?
We represent what we love to read. Women’s fiction, romance, and erotica. Nothing further. No men’s fiction. No children or young adult material. No cookbooks. No nonfiction. No poetry or short stories.
7.) Do you split-payments with published authors?
We are agreeable to have the publisher send contractual payments directly to our authors and our commission directly to us.
8.) Describe your ideal client.
We consider all the authors we represent ‘ideal’. In general, we’re looking to work with someone dedicated. And professional. Someone who views writing as a career, not just a hobby. Someone who polishes her story; makes every word count. Someone whose style matures with each book. Someone who listens to her agent and editor, and takes their advice under consideration. Someone with creative vision and writing spirit.
